Papyrus the first paper invented
by the Egyptians 5000 years ago,
has a flexible and tough texture. It is made completely by hand of cut sheets from the Papyrus plant. These sheets are manually pressed on a roll and set horizontally and vertically for several days to dry and form the surface of the paper. Talented Egyptian artists then take the Papyrus sheets and paint them with rich colors and gold trimmings, scenes from the ancient Egyptian walls, tombs, Pharaonic motifs and faces of Pharaohs and Queens.
