Egyptian Ancient Style Blue/Green Handcarved Soapstone Scarab Amulet Bracelet

Amulets played an important part in the lives of ancient Egyptians who believed in their protective powers. The mystical and healing properties of amulets were determined by their shape and material. They were thought to be capable of warding off evil and bringing good luck to all of those who carried them.

A sacred beetle, the scarab was the image of self-creation for ancient Egyptians. In hieroglyphics, the beetle actually meant "to be transformed" and was a symbol of New Life.

This is a sturdy and handsome bracelet, beautifully handcrafted in Egypt. The scarabs are prepared as they were in ancient times: first they're handcarved, then fired, then painted, then fired and glazed, then fired. Then, they are affixed to the finely filigreed bezel, with the generous silver collar on the reverse. The bracelet consists of six silver bezeled scarabs, each of which is approximately 1" high and 3/4" wide. The bracelet is assembled with double-articulated links, and fastened with a handsome sure-lock silver box spring clasp.
